Came back onto Great Lakes as part of \"Operation Inland Seas\" (Task Force 47) to celebrate the opening of the St. Lawrence Seaway, May 27-August 3, 1959. Was first combat vessel to transit New Seaway. Transferred to Nationalist Chinese Navy at Tsoying, Taiwan, on May 16, 1960, and removed from Navy list same day. Laid down as DE-718. |
