Vessel History

Rebuilds Canadian Measures, 1949 (214.75 x 37 x 14.33 ; 1136 gross - 579 registered).
History First commissioned on February 10, 1944. First registered in 1949.Built as T1-M-A1 class tanker under U.S. Maritime Commission contract. Transferred to U.S. Navy; served in New Guinea and Philippines. Arrived at San Franciso, CA, February 26, 1946. Decommissioned on May 1, 1946 and stricken from Navy List on May 21, 1946. Transferred to U.S. Maritime Commission for disposal on August 28, 1946.
Ran in regular trade, Montreal to various Lake Ontario ports, during season of 1951.
Disposition Suffered explosion and fire at Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, June 7, 1963. Towed out of harbor and beach; fire extinguished on June 9. Declared constructive total loss and sold for scrapping.
