Rebuilds Readmeasured at Detroit, MI, on April 15, 1879 (218.5 x 34.66 x 21.33; 1212 gross - 1058 net).
History First enrollment issued at Detroit, MI, on May 30, 1873. In collision with and sank bark S. V. WATSON off Point Au Pelee, Lake Erie, on July 4, 1874; later repaired. Ran aground with a cargo of corn on Point Abino, Lake Erie, on September 3, 1881; later released. In collision on September 25, 1883, later repaired.
Disposition On first trip of season, seams opened while in ice in Straits of Mackinac. Vessel filled and sank on April 3, 1894, north of Freedom, MI, about two miles east of present bridge; crew rescued by tug CRUSADER, which had vessel in tow. Was bound from Chicago for Port Huron with 55,000 bushels of corn at time of loss.
