Vessel History

History As PIONEER: In collision on October 2, 1953, with German motorship WALLSCHIFF, in St. Clair River. One life was lost on the German vessel as she sank.
Disposition Sold in July, 1961, to Hyman-Michaels Co., Chicago, IL, then resold for scrapping overseas. Enroute overseas in tow, put into Gibraltar in November, 1961, for repairs suffered in gale on Atlantic. Scrapped in Italy.
