Rebuilds Tonnage and dimension change, 1923 (489 x 52.16 x 26.42; 5398 gross - 4102 net). Converted to self-unloader by Manitowoc Shipbuilding Co., in 1933.
History Dropped from documentation, June, 1972. Both halves raised during summer and fall, 1972. Stern section towed to Sarnia, Ont., on November 11, 1972. Bow section towed to Sarnia by tugs TABOGA and BARBARA ANN on April 27, to be scuttled as land fill for City of Sarnia.As J.L. REISS: Sideswiped by steamer SEWELL AVERY, in dense fog, in St. Clair River near Algonac, MI, on September 23, 1962.
Disposition Sunk in collision with Canadian steamer PARKER EVANS, just below Blue Water Bridge, St. Clair River, Port Huron, MI, on June 5, 1972; no lives lost. Vessel sank in 35 feet water, then rolled over on starboard side. Broke in two on June 7, 1972.
