History Released propeller JAMES H. HOYT, stranded near Outer Island, Lake Superior, on November 29, 1909, and towed her to shelter at Red Cliff Point. While there caught on fire, caused by spontaneous combustion, about seven o'clock p.m., and burned to the water's edge. Was declared A $50,000 loss, only a portion of which was insured.Final U.S. enrollment surrendered at Port Huron, MI, on July 1, 1903.
