History | Sunk in collision with propeller JOE S. MORROW on September 30, 1913, a mile and a half west of Point Pelee, Lake Erie in fog. MORROW was beached to prevent her sinking and later recovered. Crew of LONDON, seventeen in number, recovered from yawl boats and deposited at Detroit by propeller BRITON. Vessel was downbound, Superior for Buffalo, with cargo of grain. Wreck was destroyed in 1914, with engine and boilers being recovered. |
