Rebuilds Rebuilt in 1921. Lengthened and converted to self-unloader by Manitowoc Shipbuilding Co., in 1942 (475 x 52.16 x 24; 4939 gross - 3853 net). Canadian measurements, 1962 (475.66 x 52 x 28.16; 5663 gross - 3796 registered).
History Departed Quebec on July 6, 1979, in tow of Polish tug JANTAR with FERNDALE, for scrapping in Europe. Arrived at Castellon, Spain, in tandem with FERNDALE, on August 3, 1979, for scrapping.As AVONDALE (C 316352): Struck fender boom in Snell Lock, St. Lawrence Seaway, on September 12, 1970, holding up traffic for several hours. Forward accommodations destroyed by fire August 26, 1978, while tied up at Port Colborne. Fire set by vandals.
Disposition Condemned for the carriage of cargo on November 24, 1975, by the American Bureau of Shipping. Sailed in ballast to Port Colborne, Ont., and was stripped. Then moved under own power to tie-up at Rameys Bend on the Welland Canal, awaiting disposition.
