History Maiden voyage on April 15, 1955.As DETROIT EDISON: Ran aground at Fairport, OH, outbound, when bow thrusters proved useless against strong wind; September 4, 1970.
Grounded in Amherstburg Channel, Detroit River, May 1, 1970; released with slight bottom damage.
Ran aground on Grays Reef in Lake Michigan on December 22, 1980. After several hours, she released herself; however, she sustained major bottom damage.
Disposition Late 1986 towed to Brownsville, TX, for breaking.
