History Taken to Gulf Coast via Mississippi River in 1942. Served in Pacific Theatre in World War II; credited with shooting down two Japanese planes in Leyte Gulf.Was loaded with 4,800 tons of scrap on last voyage Washington-Japan.
Disposition Departed mouth of Columbia River on June 22, 1955, under Honduran flag, with Canadian crew, under American skipper, Harold Borthen, for scrapping in Japan.
