History Acquired by U.S. Navy at Subic Bay, Philippine Islands, on February 21, 1947. Reclassified AG 137 (USS ROQUE) and commissioned at Guam on May 2, 1947. Served islands of Central Pacific. Reclassified AKL 8 (USS ROQUE) on March 31, 1949. Decommissioned at Guam on July 23, 1951, and loaned to Dept. of Interior. Stricken from Navy Register on January 29, 1952, and transferred to Dept. of Interior.
Disposition Foundered in position 11.00N x 130.34W, on August 10, 1982, in tropical storm \"Kristy;\" no lives lost.
