Vessel History

History Built as \"North Sands\" type dry cargo vessel; delivered on December 14, 1942. Purchased by U.S. Government under Hyde Park Agreement of 1941 and immediately bareboat chartered back to British Ministry of War Transport. Returned to U.S. Maritime Commission in 1947 and laid up.
Disposition Sold on January 31, 1961, to Union Minerals & Alloys Corp., New York, NY, for $51,589, for scrapping.
