Canadian registry closed December 7, 1973; transferred to British West Indies.As NORTHCLIFFE HALL: Suffered four small holes in hull by striking bank of Welland Canal near Allanburg, September 8, 1970, while passing steamer CAROL LAKE.
As ROLAND DESGAGNES: Suffered only minor damages when she grounded in the St. Lawrence River about one mile below the Thousand Island Bridge on October 18, 1980. She was freed the following day.
She was aground for about fourteen hours near the south end of the St. Clair River on November 2, 1981. Upbound with pig iron, she was refloated with the aid of the tugs SHANNON, WHITNEY, and KINSALE. |
