History Passed up through Welland Canal on maiden voyage, May 28, 1963.As FRANKCLIFFE HALL: In collision with British freighter GLOXINIA, July 13, 1966, during severe rainstorm in St. Lawrence River, near Montreal.
Ran aground two miles off Thunder Cape, Ontario, Lake Superior, June 6, 1967, in fog; with 800,000 bushels wheat. Released June 10, 1967.
Aground below Snell Lock, St. Lawrence Seaway, May 20, 1973; released the following day.
While at Bethlehem Steel dock Lackawanna, NY, Anthony Wall of Catharines, Ont. was injured August 5, 1982. He was caught in the ore conveyor belt of the ship and dangled there until firefighters were able to free him. He was reported in good condition at the hospital.
