Vessel History

Rebuilds Tonnage change, 1947 (3918 gross - 2225 net).
History Built as C1-M-AV1 class cargo vessel for U.S. Maritime Commission. Acquired by U.S. Navy on March 29, 1945, and commissioned on April 14, 1945. Following shakedown cruise off Galveston, TX, departed New Orleans for Pearl Harbor on May 18, 1945, arriving there on June 12. Departed Pearl June 29 with building supplies for Kwajalein; returned to San Francisco, via Eniwetok, on August 5. Following a five-month cruise to Pearl, Tarawa, Majuro, Eniwetok, Guam, and Saipan, moored at Norfolk, VA, on February 1, 1946. Decommissioned there on February 19, 1946; returned to U.S. Maritime Commission on February 22, and stricken from Navy Register on March 12, 1946.
Disposition Sold through Ali Abdulaziz Al-Homaidi, of Kuwait, to Chinese mainland shipbreakers. Departed Singapore on June 10, 1970, for Hsinkang and scrapping.
