History Launched as ODD FELLOW.First enrollment issued at Detroit, MI, June 21, 1848.
Vessel towed to Detroit, MI, in December, 1847, to receive machinery and finishing work.
Disposition Exploded boiler while lying at Hale's dock, near Wells Street, Chicago, IL, on November 8, 1860; sixteen lives lost. Machinery raised in March, 1861. Hull raised in April, 1861, and towed to Miller & Hood's Dry Dock, in Chicago. Reportedly reduced to mud scow (undocumented) in 1861.
