History | First enrollment issued at Detroit, MI, September 15, 1869.Final document surrendered at Milwaukee, WI, November 10, 1913, endorsed \"stranded.\" Grounded at South East Bend, St. Clair River, c.June 25, 1872; released by June 28, 1872. In collision with propeller CAYUGA, May 10, 1895, three miles off Skillagalee Light, Lake Michigan, sinking the latter, and HURD was beached at Harbor Springs, MI. Raised that summer and towed to Sturgeon Bay, MI, by tug ALFRED P. WRIGHT, then to Manitowoc for repairs. |
