Vessel History

Rebuilds Reduced to self-unloading barge, 1942 (2850 gross - 2850 net), with 90' boom and diesel crane.
History Line suspended between Ashtabula, OH, and Port Maitland, Ont., on June 28, 1932; vessel laid up at Ashtabula. Leased to Nicholson-Universal Steamship Co., Detroit, MI, from December, 1935-April, 1936, for hauling autos between Muskegon-Milwaukee, across Lake Michigan, then returned to lay-up at Ashtabula.Stranded December 23, 1919, at Lowes Point, three miles west of Port Maitland, Ontario.
Stranded on Tecumseh Shoal, off Port Maitland, Ontario, Lake Erie, on March 25, 1927.
Disposition Sank in mid-January 1981, while being towed between Yarmouth and Rockland, ME. She began to ice up and developed a list. She then rolled over and a short while later, sank. She was loaded with scrap iron at the time.
