History As E.J. EARLING:Stranded on Madeline Island, Lake Superior, in fog May 27, 1909; suffered $25,000 loss.
Suffered strained hull and structural damage in gale and heavy seas about sixty miles west of Whitefish Point, Lake Superior, November 23, 1922; $25,000 loss.
As PETER ROBERTSON:
In collision with steamer J.S. ASHLEY, two miles north of Cleveland, OH, harbor entrance; June 20, 1961. Suffered damage to rudder and stern plates.
On way to be scrapped, broke anchor chains and grounded off Jordan Harbour, Ont., Lake Ontario, August 16, 1969; released.
Disposition Passed down Port Colborne, August 2, 1969, in tow of German tugs FAIRPLAY NO. 10 and FAIRPLAY NO. 12. Broke from tow of tug FAIRPLAY X and tandem tow, steamer BUCKEYE, November 2, 1969, and stranded on beach near LaCoruna, on Northwest tip of Spain, on way to be scrapped. Broke in half midships.
