Vessel History

Rebuilds Converted to coasting vessel at Quebec, P.Q., 1961 (135.16 x 45 x 14.33; 567 gross - 364 registered).
History Vessel was built as ice breaker and buoy tender at Toledo, OH, for U.S. Coast Guard in 1941-1942. Decommissioned at Grand Haven, MI, in August, 1946. Sold on December 17, 1946, for rebuilding as passenger vessel, but never accomplished. Sold in 1952 to be rebuilt as salvage vessel, but never left the dock. Towed to Kingston, Ont., in 1959, and laid up. In 1961, taken to Quebec and rebuilt as coaster.CANADIAN HOLIDAY and TREASURE UNLIMITED both unofficial names; never registered.
Disposition Blown aground at Cape Dorset, Baffin Island, September 15, 1963. Abandoned by crew and became total loss. Register closed on September 18, 1964.
