History As MANISTIQUE-MARQUETTE & NORTHERN NO. 1: While maneuvering in ice off Manistique, MI, breakwater, January 5, 1908, stove in two plates in boiler room. Managed to make Manistique harbor, but sank at Chicago Lumber Co. dock. Raised on January 9, 1908, and taken to South Chicago for repairs.
Disposition Foundered in gale, October 22, 1929, with all hands, in Lake Michigan, bound from Milwaukee for Muskegon; forty-seven lives lost.
