History | Builder - Walter Hartung, Master CarpenterFoundered east of Marblehead Peninsula, Lake Erie, on December 11, 1929. Raised in September, 1930, just west of Bay Point, and returned to service after extensive repairs. Seams opened and vessel sank while moored at dock, American Ship Building Co. dry dock slip, Old River Bed, Cleveland, OH, in January, 1957. Raised and sank again there in December, 1957. Raised in summer, 1959 by Jack Petty, Lakewood, OH; Gerald F. Miner, Homer Simmers, and Roger Martin, all of Canton, OH; and William C. Macklin, of Mogadore, OH. Reportedly they took vessel in payment for services, but this fails to show in documentation. |
