First enrollment issued at Chicago, IL, September 2, 1884.Boiler exploded near 16th Street railroad bridge, south branch of Chicago River, October 26, 1895, while towing propeller IONIA, along with tug O.B. GREEN. Explosion killed two on MORFORD, and captain of GREEN, which was alongside at time of explosion. Hull was extensively rebuilt the following year. |
