Spence and crew of three of NEMESIS rescued 15 of the 16 crewmembers of the American steamer NEW YORK on Lake Huron, 12 mi. from land between Port Hope and Sand Beach on October 15, 1876. (Toledo Blade, Oct. 16, 1876) Built of oak above the water and rock elm below. Wrecked at Bay Field 1883. In Commission, 1898. |
