Under charter, 1971-1972, to Escanaba Towing Co., as barge.As barge A.E. NETTLETON: Broke tow line from tug OLIVE L. MOORE, about seventeen miles west of Keewenaw Peninsula, Lake Superior, and developed a 15 degree list, on November 2, 1972. Towed into Lily Pond, Keewenaw Waterway, on following day. While passing downbound on same trip, through Soo Locks, on November 19, struck U.S. Steel Corp. dock below Soo.
Removed from Documentation in May/June, 1973. Was scrapped by Recuperaciones Submarinas. |
Disposition

Passed down, Welland Canal, from Buffalo, NY, June 11, 1973, in tow of tugs G.W. ROGERS and SALVAGE MONARCH. Cleared Quebec, in tandem with R.E. WEBSTER, in tow of Polish tug JANTAR, on June 15, 1973. Arrived at Santander, Spain, July 5, 1973, for scrapping. |
