| History | Into Lakes in early 1950's under charter to British American Oil Co. Stern was purchased by the Irving Oil Co. and towed to Pictou, N.S., where a new forward section was built. The work was completed and she sailed from Pictou on November 30, 1946. (Brookes) \"1946-1947 This year she was under charter to Creole Petroleum Corp. of Venezuela and carried 74 cargoes of heavy crude oil for them as follows: From the head of Lake Maracaibo to - Aruba . . . . . . 69 cargoes Cuidad Trujillo . 4 cargoes Curacao . . . . . 3 cargoes Puerto Rico . . . 1 cargo Halifax . . . . . 1 cargo Total of these cargoes was: 1,776,000 barrels.\" (Brookes) 1947 - She returned from South America in October 1947 and went on the Marine Slip at Dartmouth, N.S. for overhaul. (Brookes) 1957 - In December she made a voyage up the St. John River from St. John to Fredericton and return. According to the report, this was the latest voyage made on the river in any year and she was the largest vessel ever to reach Fredericton.
