Built as fish patrol vessel for Ohio Fish & Game Commission.After lying idle with Arnold Line, since 1956, sold and converted for use in carrying birch and maple logs from Grand Marais, MI, to the Soo and Petoskey, MI, for veneer mills.
As MACKINAC ISLANDER: Suffered extensive hull damage in collision with Greek freighter ZERMATT in fog off Gull Island, Lake Michigan, on August 9, 1961. |
