History Commissioned on December 15, 1941. Assigned to naval reserve training duties at Chicago, IL, on October 15, 1947. Reclassified AGSS-236 on November 6, 1962. Replaced in August, 1969, by USS RUNNER (SS-476). Application made to Navy Dept. by the South Chicago Chamber of Commerce to retain her as a memorial.
Disposition Stricken from Navy List on June 30, 1969.
