Vessel History

History Commissioned on July 19, 1943, and spent 1943-1944 in Aleutian waters. Arrived at Puget Sound Navy Yard, Bremerton, WA, on November 11, 1944, for overhaul. Departed San Francisco, March 15, 1945, for Pearl Harbor, as escort to LST 845, then assigned to Hawaiian Sea Frontier for five months. Arrived at San Pedro, CA, on September 21, 1945, then proceeded to Key West, FL, via Panama Canal. Following inactivation overhaul, sailed on November 17, 1945, for Green Cove Springs, FL. Then served as U.S. Navy Reserve vessel at Duluth MN. Decommissioned in October, 1949, and joined Atlantic Reserve Fleet. Renamed GLENOLDEN at Norfolk, VA, on February 5, 1956. Stricken from Naval Register on April 1, 1959.
Disposition Sold to Hughes Brothers, Inc., on September 14, 1959, presumably for scrapping.
