| History | Commissioned on January 2, 1945.Built as an S2-S2-AQ1 class frigate under U.S. Maritime Commission contract. Served on convoy duty to North Africa, in 1945, then returned to Casco Bay, ME, for anti-submarine training, March-May, 1945. Converted to weather ship and served in North Atlantic, June, 1945 - May, 1946. Decommissioned on May 15, 1946 and struck from Navy Register on June 19, 1946. Transferred to Cuban Navy on June 16, 1947. |
