Vessel History

History Commissioned on December 4, 1944.Built as S2-S2-AQ1 class frigate under U.S. Maritime Commission contract. Served escort duty and briefly as weather patrol vessel along East Coast and Bermuda, December, 1944 - July, 1945. Assigned under Lend-Lease to U.S.S.R., September 4, 1945, and decommissioned at Cold Bay, AK, September 9, 1945. Returned to Yokosuka, Japan, and recommissioned on July 29, 1950. Served on patrol duty out of Yokosuka and in Korea waters, July, 1950 - February, 1953. Decommissioned on February 28, 1953, and transferred to Japan.
Disposition Scrapped in 1977.
