As PONTIAC: Suffered damaged bow when wind caused vessel to collide with lock in Niagara River, July 18, 1963.Discovered to have a cracked bow plate on April 23, 1976, while on Lake Superior en route from Two Harbors, MN, to Cleveland with a load of taconite, escorted by Coast Guard cutter WOODRUSH. Repaired at Fraser Shipyard, Superior, WI. |
