On way to coast, sunk in collision with British propeller TURRET AGE, October 23, 1898, forty miles above Quebec City, St. Lawrence River, near Ste. Croix, Quebec; no lives lost. Vessel later raised and redocumented at Ogdensburg, NY, on May 1, 1900. As LLOYD S. PORTER: Waterlogged 4 miles off Ludington, MI, May 1, 1895 and was assisted to the harbor by the Life Saving Crew before she sank. Was later pumped out and returned to service.
