As LLOYD S. PORTER: Chartered for ocean service in 1898. On way to coast, sunk in collision with British propeller TURRET AGE, October 23, 1898, forty miles above Quebec City, St. Lawrence River, near Ste. Croix, Quebec; no lives lost. Vessel later raised and redocumented at Ogdensburg, NY, on May 1, 1900.
As LLOYD S. PORTER: Waterlogged 4 miles off Ludington, MI, May 1, 1895 and was assisted to the harbor by the Life Saving Crew before she sank. Was later pumped out and returned to service. (USLSS 1895 Report, p.172)
Disposition Burned at dock, Fair Haven, NY, May 10, 1917, along with propeller CONGERCOAL; no lives lost.
