History Laid down as YN-62 for U.S. Navy.Vessel commissioned in U.S. Navy on April 8, 1944. Saw service, 1944-1946, in New Guinea, Australia, Philippines, and Borneo. Decommissioned on April 4, 1946; stricken from Navy List on May 8, 1946. Transferred to U.S. Maritime Commission on May 7, 1947, and sold to E.E. Johnson, of Fort William, Ontario, on April 29, 1947.
Disposition Went aground in James Bay, P.Q., on August 14, 1961, while doing hydrographical survey; abandoned by crew as total loss.
