Vessel History

History Acquired by U.S. Navy in July, 1945, and operated by U.S.C.G. Placed in Reserve Fleet on May 23, 1946. Reacquired by U.S. Navy on February 2, 1947 and commissioned on May 27, 1947. Assigned to Alaska Sea Frontier, running Seattle to Alaska ports. From January-July, 1951, served mid-Pacific Trust Territories, and from August, 1951, to Janauary, 1952, was in Korean War Zone, running Japan to Korean ports. After general overhaul, departed Bremerton, WA, May 12, 1952, again to serve Japan to Korean ports. For the next several years served in Pacific, Pearl Harbor, and Japan. Arrived at Yokosuka, Japan, November 21, 1959, and was decommissioned there on December 5, 1959. Stricken from Navy Register, January 1, 1960.
Disposition Sold to Hugo Neu Steel Products Corp., New York, NY, on July 27, 1960, for scrapping.
