Launched as T2-SE-A1 class tanker for U.S. Maritime Commission. Operated by American Pacific Steamship Co., Portland, OR, in 1946. Passed upbound, Detroit, on maiden voyage into lakes, July 16, 1961.As NORTHERN VENTURE: Struck arrester at Lock 3, Welland Canal, May 13, 1971, tying up traffic for twelve hours.
Lost power in Lake Ontario in April, 1977, towed to Port Colborne by RED WING. Received repairs at shipyard there.
Canadian register closed on November 9, 1983. |

Bow and midbody added to stern of Canadian propeller CABOT (C 323003) at St. Catharines, Ontario, by Port Weller Dry Docks, Ltd., in 1983. Stern section scrapped at Port Maitland, Ontario, in 1983. |
