History Vessel was sold to U.S. Navy at Manitowoc, WI, on April 19, 1918. She arrived at Boston Navy Yard, December 28, 1918, having been commissioned on October 17, 1918. She remained at Boston Navy Yard, under repair, until sold on August 21, 1919. Had been renamed AVALON on August 18, 1919. Was placed on run from Los Angeles to Santa Catalina Island; laid up at Los Angeles in 1951.
Disposition Burned during conversion to yacht, July 18, 1960, and was scrapped at Long Beach, CA. Final enrollment surrendered at Los Angeles in June, 1965, as \"foundered.\"
