History

As L.C. WALDO: In "Big Storm" of November 8, 1913, was blown ashore three-quarters of a mile s south-east of Gull Rock Light, Manitou Island, Lake Superior, and broke in two. Crew was rescued on November 11 by U.S. Life Saving Service crews from Portage Entry and Eagle River, and the tug DANIEL L. HEBARD; twenty-four lives saved. Vessel was surrendered to underwriters. Salvaged the following spring and taken to American Ship Building Company, Lorain, OH, where she was rebuilt. |
Disposition

In tandem tow, along with tanker MAKAWELI, of Yugoslav tug JUNAK, bound for scrapping at LaSpezia, Italy, broke loose and stranded on rocks off Portofina, in Gulf of Genoa, on November 5, 1967. Broke up on the night of November 6 and 7, a total loss. |
