Vessel History | |
History | On November 7, 1947, while downbound on Lake Huron with grain for Montreal, during a storm the WARREN sought shelter near Presque Isle Point. It drifted and went hard aground at Black Point, 500 ft. from shore, and was heavily damaged. Tugs were unable to free the steamer and it was abandoned as a constructive total loss. The grain cargo was pumped via a pipeline to shore in February 1948. see Inland Seas, Spring 1985. |
Disposition | Scrapped by St. Lawrence Iron & Metal, Inc., at Montreal, P.Q. in winter, 1964-1965. |
