| History | First enrolled, May/June, 1974.As H. LEE WHITE: Sustained stem damage when came into contact with the Algoma Steel Corp. dock in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, on July 14, 1976. Permanent repairs, consisting of the renewal of four shaped stem plates, were affected at Sturgeon Bay, WI. Collided with downbound Greek freighter GEORGIOS A. near St. Clair, MI, in St. Clair River, about 2:45 a.m., December 11, 1974, while WHITE was upbound. Returned to Nicholson dock at Detroit for inspection of damage. Grounded at Port Dolomite June 26, 1974, suffering about $625,000 damage. Struck dock in Sault Ste. Marie on July 4, 1976, sustaining $108,000 damage. |
