- Rebuilds: Rebuilt by D. McCullen at Detroit, MI, as barge, enrolled as new vessel, Detroit, July 6, 1857 (150 x 32 x 7; 308.84 tons). Change of rig, Detroit, MI, July 20, 1858, to steam barge. Readmeasured, Detroit, MI, December 6, 1865 (151.42 x 32 x 7.66; 267.84). Rig changed to barge, Detroit, MI, July 27, 1866.
- History: First enrollment issued at Detroit, MI, May 10, 1854.
As E.K. COLLINS: Burned in Detroit River, at Maldon, Ontario, on October 8, 1854, while bound down from Sault Ste. Marie, MI, for Cleveland, OH. Ten passengers and thirteen crew members lost.
- Disposition: Broke away from tug, along with barges R.R. ELLIOTT and ONTARIO, in last week of October, 1866. ARK foundered with all hands on northern Lake Huron. Hull found about 100 miles north of Goderich in late November.
