History Vessel laid down as WAR SPRITE for Cunard Steamship Co., Ltd., as agent for the Shipping Controller, London, England. Requisitioned by the U.S. Shipping Board under the Urgent Deficiencies Act of June 13, 1917.
Disposition Stranded south of Bodo, November 5, 1956, on voyage from Umba for Hull. Refloated on November 30, 1956, towed to Harstad, with serious damages. Arrived at BO'ness, Scotland, April 19, 1957, and broken up by P. & W. McLellan, Ltd.
