As SCOTT MISENER: Touched bottom just above Whaleback Shoal, St. Lawrence River at 0300, October 15, 1973, and received damage to about sixty feet of her hull; was dry docked at Thunder Bay from October 20 to 28 for repairs.Struck lock pier at Soo Locks on May 5, 1977, sustaining hull damage. Survey at Montreal in September 1978 revealed damage apparently sustained on September 1, 1978, when ship bumped bank above Welland Canal's Bridge 10. Port side shell plating heavily set in and ruptured in area of number one tank, with corresponding damage to internals. Propeller blades also slightly bent. |
