Broke cylinder head and bent piston rod while ten miles off Manitou Island, Lake Michigan, May 17, 1847; went into Manitowoc, WI, for repairs.
Disposition Burned seven miles off Sheboygan, WI, Lake Michigan, on November 21, 1847. Estimated number of lives lost runs from 160 to 200 persons; about fifty lives saved. Hull later towed into shallow water near Sheboygan by propeller DELAWARE.
