History: Built as C1-M-AV1 class cargo vessel for U.S. Maritime Commission. Acquired by U.S. Navy on June 5, 1945 and commissioned on June 26. Departed Gulfport, MS, and transited Panama Canal on July 27, arriving at Hollandia on September 2, 1945. Cleared for Brisbane on September 17, arriving there on September 17. Got underway for Manus September 25, arriving October 3. Following day cleared for Saipan, arriving October 10. Cleared for Okinawa on October 13, arriving on October 18, 1945. Sailed for the Marianas on November 1, and operated in that island group until departing for Panama Canal on January 13, 1946. Transited Canal on February 20 and arrived at Norfolk, VA, on March 1, 1946. Decommissioned at Norfolk on March 22, 1946; returned to Maritime Commission on March 26 for layup in the James River; stricken from Navy Register on April 12, 1946.
Disposition: Sold to Taiwan shipbreakers; arrived at Kaohsiung on April 9, 1970, for scrapping.
