| History | There is a great deal of confusion on this vessel. The Canadian List of Shipping shows her being built in 1873 at Marine City, MI, with foreign name STAR. The American bureau of Shipping's Great Lakes Register has it built in 1872 at Detroit; both the latter and Polk's 1884 Register shows Whitney as the builder. No STAR or CORISANDE with this tonnage show up in U.S. enrollments. |
