History As BEN W. CALVIN: Caught in a moving field of ice and grounded on muddy river bottom near the mouth of Detroit River, January 2, 1971. Was upbound with coal, Toledo for Detroit. Lightered by McQueen Marine, Ltd., and released January 4, with minor damage.
Disposition Removed from documentation, Jan/Feb., 1974, sold Canadian for scrapping. Departed Quebec on May 8, 1974, in tandem tow with JACK WIRT and arrived for scrapping at Valencia, Spain, prior to June 7, 1974.
