History Decommissioned February 7, 1949; recommissioned December 11, 1949. Towed up Mississippi, Illinois, and Chicago Rivers to Lake Michigan. On May 5, 1950, placed in commission as flagship for the six patrol vessels of the Ninth Naval District, engaged in training Naval reservists on the Great Lakes.
Disposition Struck from the Naval Register on May 1, 1965. Sold to North American Smelting Corporation of Wilmington, Delaware, for scrapping on March 1, 1966.
