History Sold to A.J. Frank & Son, Ltd., for scrapping. Towed to Hamilton, Ont., in 1972. Departed Hamilton in tow of tug SALVAGE MONARCH, July 20, 1973, and joined at Kingston by tug HELEN MCALLISTER. Departed Quebec, in tandem with UHLMANN BROTHERS, in tow of Polish tug JANTAR, August 14, 1973, and arrived at Castellon, Spain, September 20, 1973, for scrapping. Removed from documentation, March/April, 1973.As JAMES S. DUNHAM: Sunk in collision with steamer ROBERT FULTON, November 5, 1917, just below Grassy Island South, in Detroit River.
As OTTO M. REISS: Lost propeller on Lake Huron, June 8, 1963; towed to Buffalo for unloading, then to Lorain for repairs.
Grounded at entrance to Little Rapids Cut, St. Marys River, September 17, 1969. Released by tugs ATOMIC, AMHERSTBURG, and JOHN MCLEAN, on September 19th.
