Vessel History

Disposition Struck Canoe Rocks, Lake Superior, near Isle Royale, on June 4, 1947, broke in two sections, and after end slipped off into deep water; twelve lives lost. Vessel was bound from Port Arthur, Ontario, for Ashtabula, OH, with iron ore at time of loss. USCG KIMBALL rescued twenty-one survivors.
